On behalf of the Sakyong, Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche, the Office of the Kalapa Court is most pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Melanie Klein as Director of the Shambhala Center of Boulder, effective Shambhala Day, 19 February 2015. Ms. Klein has been a member of the Shambhala community for over 18 years. She is a teacher and meditation instructor and served as co-director of the Shambhala Center of Los Angeles for three years where she had a 23-year career in business development with Boeing. She graduated from the Master of Divinity program at Naropa University this spring, and has been ordained as an Upadhyaya, or Shambhala chaplain. Please join us in extending all our best wishes and appreciation to her in this vital leadership position.
We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Ms. Ulrike Halpern, who will retire on Shambhala Day, for her six years of most devoted service as center director. She has guided the Boulder community with great compassion and dignity even through challenging times of fire and flood. Thank you so very much.
